Event Layout:

Friday

Meet at the health and fitness club, Active4less in Stevenage, Hertfordshire between 5.30 - 5.45am on the Friday of the event. We aim to be on route by 6am.

The drive to Ben Nevis is approximately 11 hours with 2 - 3 service stops. The 24 hour challenge begins in one of Scotland’s most scenic areas; Glen Nevis Valley. From here we will climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK, standing at 1,344m. We aim to be walking on Ben Nevis by 6pm and descending by 10pm. Ben Nevis provides spectacular views as we trek into the sunset.

Soon after sunset we will be challenged by night trekking with the help of the moonlight (and head torches).

Saturday

After descending from Ben Nevis we will drive through the night towards the beautiful Lake District. Once arriving in the Lakes we will begin to climb the second of the 3 Peaks - Scafell Pike; the highest mountain in England standing at 978m. As you ascend through sunrise you can enjoy fantastic scenery looking down over the hills and lakes of the region.

If we are running to plan we should be starting Scafell early saturday morning and be on our way to Snowdon by midday.

Providing we are on target time (before 7pm) we will attempt the final mountain of the challenge - the highest mountain in Wales; Snowdon, standing at 1,085m. Snowdon is a national treasure with its scenery and diversity of plants and wildlife. A truly stunning end to the 3 Peaks Challenge.

Sunday

For those who didn't complete Snowdon on the Saturday the opportunity will be there Sunday morning before we depart back to Stevenage in the afternoon.

If we have completed the challenge on Saturday evening we will be heading back to Stevenage at 7am on Sunday morning.
